Trouble

I'm Long gone wrong and out of practice,
So this is far from my fastest,
I can't escape my past,
Or last to surpass the gasping breath
That would be his last hit.

You see, I got snake bit,
Real quick, and I can't go back,
Relive the chase, the race, the pussy pounding pace.

Trying to retrace my track,
Pack up my bag, and beat an old path
To you, to see, to be, to do everything we ought,
Not a long forgot thought.

But I'll sit here at my desk
Divest that its best to let it rest
Suggesting that we both confess
To a future of single step, stop, regress
For all of our double steps, that's progress.

I'll win you over make you my own,
Build you a throne in our home,
A pedestal of racecar palindromes.

But my dream is just a dream
Seems to be a case of c'est la vie.

I'll hold on to my hope
Knowing I sold my soul
For a big fucking lump of coal.

Its true what they say,
”To know how it feels
You gotta lose to pay.”

But it all comes back some day
When everyone mourns
And they lower you in the grave.
